Helen Molesworth - Duchamp
In her brilliant essay, Helen Molesworth pinpoints the significance of the return of the handmade in Duchamp's artistic oeuvre of his later years and, at the same time, and for the very first time, makes this fundamental paradigmatic change the focal point of academic debate.
Helen Molesworth was born in 1966 in New York and studied Art History at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She has been the director and curator of the Amelie A. Wallace Gallery at the State University of New York, Old Westbury; the curator of contemporary art at the Harvard Art Museum, Cambridge, Massachusetts; the chief curator of exhibitions at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio; the chief curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston; and the chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
