C&K is an iterative and capacious collaboration between the two Tokyo-based artists COBRA and Ken Kagami.
COBRA (born 1981) is a Japanese contemporary artist and
founder of the artist-run space XYZ Collective. Known for working
across video, sculpture, and photography, their art often explores
themes of humor, daily life, and social media with a satirical edge.
Ken Kagami (born 1974) is a prominent Japanese
contemporary artist recognized for his humorous, often brashly
erotic, and satirical works. Utilizing media like sculpture, drawing, and performance, he explores social phenomena, art history, and pop culture.
While each artist has a distinct practice, a common link between the two is an interest in the comedic aspects of everyday phenomenon,
scatological humor, and the theoretical work and writings of Milwaukee based artist
David Robbins.
