Usage du temps

 - Usage du temps
How the organization of time structures the creative process and more broadly our relationship to the world.
Usage du temps (Uses of time) is a research project carried out at the École nationale supérieure de la photographie in Arles between 2016 and 2021. It deals with the different ways we use time, both on a personal and a professional level. It focuses on the way that time structures artistic processes, and on a broader level, our relationships with the world. It raises the question of knowing how we inhabit temporality, how we can resist the administrative and technological fragmentation of our time. The project has given rise to critical, theoretical, plastic and visual productions. It provided opportunities for encounters between students, artists and scientists, and took the form of a series of exhibitions. This book is the sum of five years of research. It condenses this time of exploration into images, artworks and texts, and allows for a consideration of what eax-ch of us does with our time viewed from the field of art.
