Spectre #02 – Vegetal Trauma

Spectre - Spectre #02
This unedited issue of Spectre invites contemporary artists to share their interpretation of vegetal trauma.
Plants feel the pressures, constraints and violence of the outside world. Our irresponsible behaviour towards plants only increases the trauma suffered. Being rooted and deeply sedentary beings, plants have no choice but to endure and adapt. Their life is made up of successive aggressions which they remember, the violence of which they have to overcome. They bear the trace and stigma of the trauma of a living environment that they cannot escape from.

Spectre is an iconographic magazine, published by Cosa Mentale Editions under the artistic direction of Mathias Gervais de Lafond. About a specific theme, major contemporary artists deliver their subjective interpretation of a reality. This collective work questions our sensitivity and destabilizes our daily relationship with objects and places. It awakens our poetic presence in the world.
