Dominique Petitgand
Since the 1990s, Dominique Petitgand (born 1965 in Laxou, France; lives and works in Paris) has been developing a body of work centered on listening, speech, silence, and the sonority of words, sounds, and places. He creates sound works in which voices, sounds, musical atmospheres, and silences—through the process of editing—construct micro-universes where ambiguity constantly persists between a sense of reality and a projection into a fictional world that is context-free and timeless.
