Laureline Galliot

Laureline Galliot (born 1986, lives and works in Paris) is a French designer. After studying fabric design at ENSAAMA in Paris, she choses to study product design, then an half year internship at Marc Newson ltd in London, she graduates from ENSCI les ateliers, design school, in 2012 with jury's congratulation for her project about digital crafts.
Laureline Galliot draws inspiration from her painting, a daily practice she experiences on iPad with her fingers. Thanks to digital tools including touch screen tablet, she developed her own craft that allows to paint an object within same gesture that sculpts the shape itself; a kind of 3d painted process. Therefore, her works reflect her exploration in merging colour with structure, integrating it into the shape instead of layering it over the top at the end. This is possible thanks to a combination of virtual modelling and full colour 3D printers which can give birth to a new kind of digitally hand-painted sandstone objects. Displayed in many famous museums and galleries, four pieces of her collection are now part of French national design collection at CNAP. Laureline Galliot is also known for her collaborations with carpet & fabric manufacturers and she teaches regularly in fashion & design schools.
