Tegneklubben
Tegneklubben (The Drawing Club), founded in 2004, is a collaborative artist collective from Norway focused on drawing. Its members include Bjørn Bjarre, Ulf Carlsson, Paul Dring, and Martin Skauen.
"Tegneklubben (the Drawing Club) is not a writing club, although we often write a comment under a drawing when we don't quite understand what we've drawn. Often, text or just letters can serve as the starting point for a playful exploration of form and meaning. Because play is what we engage in at Tegneklubben. Play that sometimes touches on serious topics. But most of the time, we just enjoy ourselves. We sit together, drawing and chatting. Inspiring each other to draw something we wouldn't have drawn if we were working alone. When we started the club, it was without the thought that it would lead to anything other than drawings. We didn't want exhibitions. We wanted a free space alongside our day jobs, without any pressure. Just drawing anonymously without having to explain what we were doing. Without taking responsibility for what we drew. A bit cowardly, in a way, but also liberating."
