Ital Thai Chinese and Paint is a compilation of the first collaborative work by Zuni Halpern and Erik Steinbrecher. The booklet shows montages of photographs and paintings. All the photographed advertisings are collected in the streets. The paintings on paper are studio works. Both materials, views of fusion food and plates of abstract designs are melted. These "painted meals" can be considered as ornaments in the urban context of fast gastronomy and catering.
This book is Steinbrecher's first work with Nieves and a piece of an artist's books trilogy, alongside Möhren in Athen
(in collaboration with Zuni Halpern) and Halli Galli
Zuni Halpern (born 1978 in Zurich) is currently based in Zurich and Chicago. Zuni Halpern has been studying art and graphic design.
Erik Steinbrecher (born 1963 in Basel, lives and works in Berlin) is known to a wide international audience particularly since his participation in documenta X (1997) as well as further major institutional presentations such as at Kunst-Werke in Berlin, MoMA PS1 in New York, the Kunsthalle Vienna, the Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich or The Weserburg Museum of Modern Art in Bremen.
