Adrian Schindler - Tetuan / Tetuán / تطوان
First monograph.
Adrian Schindler (born 1989) is a Franco-German artist. After spending ten years in Spain, he moved to Marseille in early 2025. His work has explored European fascist and colonial legacies through a notably biographical perspective, focusing primarily on Germany during the Third Reich, then on Spain's colonial past in Morocco. Informed by theories of decolonialisation and critical studies of whiteness, he aims to develop an ethic of collaborative work methodologies. He also uses archives as performative tools that enable us to question how the past manifests itself in present-day power relations.
Texts by Jesús Alcaide, Nouha Ben Yebdri, Touda Bouanani, Anna Manubens, Antoine Marchand, Salma Mochtari, Adrian Schindler, Aicha Josefa Trinidad Gououi.
