Suspended spaces

Suspended spaces is an independent collective founded in 2007 by artists and scholars (Jan Kopp, Jacinto Lageira, Daniel Lê, Françoise Parfait and Eric Valette), based in Paris.

An artistic project carried out around Fordlândia—a town built from 1928 onwards by Henry Ford in Amazonia on the banks of the Tapajòs to intensively exploit the rubber tree needed to manufacture tyres, which, following the failure of the project, became a small village in the middle of an industrial heritage of uncertain statu. With twenty international artists and researchers, in collaboration with Fotoativa, a Brazilian collective from Belém.
