Michael Snow
Prolific and multidisciplinary, Michael Snow (1929-2023) was a major figure in the fieldsof painting, sculpture, photo, cinema, and video, as well as in sound and music. He made his first film in 1956, while his status as an international avant-garde filmmaker was consecrated in 1967 by Wavelength. His work features at most major international art events.

Recorded in 2019 at the Centre Pompidou, Music for Today is the last public performance by Canadian artist Michael Snow, who died in 2023. Entirely improvised on a prepared piano, this musical piece is a true journey through the musical work of an artist who made perpetual experimentation an artistic practice in its own right.
