Simon Boudvin brings a narrative but also political depth to the architectural project of building the new museum of folklore in Mouscon.
Simon Boudvin's work consisted in inserting bricks that were recovered from the demolition sites of several small heritages in Mouscron. The bricks inserted in the facade contribute to the story of the preservation of tradition and minor architecture under threat. As part of the work, the book “Un Nouveau Musée” consists of a text by the artist, in which he extensively descibes the museum, without showing it.
Simon Boudvin (born 1979 in Le Mans, lives and works in Bagnolet) is a French artist. His work revolves essentially around architecture and the forms of modernity.
