Les Cahiers du Collège International de Photographie
Founded in 2018, the Collège International de Photographie (CIP) is an association dedicated to developing knowledge, practices, and experiences in photography.
At the crossroads of the artistic, academic, and professional worlds, the CIP seeks to foster reflection and support photographic professions within an expanded vision of the medium.
The Cahiers du CIP serve both as an editorial platform documenting the activities of the Collège International de Photographie (research grants, lectures, workshops, etc.) and as a meeting point between research-creation and technical know-how. Combining artistic experimentation with theoretical and historical inquiry, the Cahiers du CIP invite us to think, through photography, toward new imaginaries. Contributions stem from a wide range of perspectives—literature and poetry, artisans' testimonies, theoretical reflections, or artistic processes—all converging toward a shared photographic ground.
Seeking to fill a gap in critical discourse by addressing the transformations photography has undergone over the past generation, the Cahiers du CIP aim to connect the practices of photographers, professionals, collectors, gallerists, and thinkers of the image within a polyphonic approach.
The Cahiers du Collège International de Photographie (CIP) put into practice a form of thinking rooted in photographic experience—on the margins of both academic and professional worlds. This first issue seeks to weave together all parts of the photographic ecosystem in a living reflection on the crisis of sensibility that runs through our societies.
