Anything by The Smiths

Jonathan Monk - Anything by The Smiths
Visual documentation on Jonathan Monk's eponymous exhibition, commissioned by curator Marc-Olivier Wahler on the occasion of the twenty-year anniversary of the CAN Centre d'art Neuchâtel. The British artist revisits an iconic exhibition he did during the first years of the CAN in 1997. The publication confronts the images of the two events.
Published following the eponymous exhibition at the CAN Centre d'art Neuchâtel, from March 28 to May 24, 2015.
Jonathan Monk (born 1969 in Leicester, Great Britain, lives and works in Berlin) is known for his reinterpretations of iconic works by influential artists. By blending homage, critique and humour, he challenges notions of originality and authorship.
