A photographic reflection on place and borders (artist's book).
Karin Schmuck studies the border as a space expanded by photography as a place of possibility and thought—a space in which one can ponder and reflect and call oneself into question. In this practice of walking and observing and shooting, "Limitis." appears as a physical discourse on the local area and the concept of identity and belonging.
Karin Schmuck (born 1981, lives and works in Bolzano, Italy) studied painting in Urbino and photography in Bologna. She works on long-term projects that take her on foot to borders and remote places, resulting in photographic works, drawings and multimedia installations.
