British guitarist, improviser, composer and theorist, Derek Bailey (1930-2015) is one of the pioneers of free improvisation. His collaborations with the great figures of the European, Japanese and American free jazz and experimental scenes are innumerable: Han Bennink, Peter Brötzmann, Noël Akchoté, Joëlle Léandre, Pat Thomas, John Butcher, Keiji Haino, Otomo Yoshihide, Abe Kaoru, Toshinori Kondo, Anthony Braxton, George Lewis, Steve Lacy, Evan Parker, Cyro Baptista, John Zorn, Tony Oxley, Thurston Moore, etc.

Pat Thomas (born 1960, lives and works in London) studied classical piano from aged 8 and started playing Jazz from the age of 16. He has since gone on to develop an utterly unique style—embracing improvisation, jazz and new music. He has played with Derek Bailey in Company Week (1990/91) and in the trio AND (with Noble)—with Tony Oxley's Quartet and Celebration Orchestra and in Duo with Lol Coxhill.

Steve Noble (born 1960) is an English drummer, percussionist and improviser. He studied with Nigeria master drummer Elkan Ogunde and in the early 1980s was a member of Rip Rig and Panic, touring extensively throughout Europe and England. Since then he has worked in a variety of musical contexts but has been extensively involved in improvised music through work with a wide range of musicians, including Derek Bailey, Matthew Shipp, Ishmael Wadada Leo Smith, Stephen O'Malley, Joe McPhee, Alex Ward, Rhodri Davies, Keiji Haino, Martin Küchen, Ikue Mori, Lol Coxhill, Maya Dunietz, Peter Brötzmann, Evan Parker, John Butcher and many more.
