MuMoLe Musée Mobile – Volume 1

MuMo - MuMo
The journey of the MuMo, a mobile contemporary art museum in the form of a container traveling by boat and truck to meet the children on the roads of France and Africa.
This book describes the adventure of the first mobile museum dedicated to children and contemporary art, from its creation to its journey on the roads of France and Africa. A "making-of" the project shows the different steps of MuMo's construction and the artists at work. A diary composed of archives from the tour (photos, press articles, chidrens' drawings, letters of support...) immerses the reader in the heart of the MuMo experience. Writers, art critiques, artists, philosophers : various key figures give their outlook on the 13 works of art created for MuMo, the project and the exhibition. Among them, art critics and curators Simon Njami and Guillaume Desanges, and philosopher Alain Kerlan.
Works by Paul McCarthy, Daniel Buren, Maurizio Cattelan, James Turrell, Huang Yong Ping, Claude Lévêque, Nari Ward, Jim Lambie, Chéri Samba, John Baldessari, Ghada Amer, Florence Doléac, Farhad Moshiri, Eija-Lisa Ahtila, Roman Signer, Pierre Huyghe, Lawrence Weiner...
