A collection of sketches and research notes, texts, transcriptions of sound works, and visuals that document Dominique Petitgand's sound work.
Published following the exhibition La moindre anomalie by Dominique Petitgand at La Maréchalerie – Contemporary Art Center / ÉNSA Versailles from January 23 to April 12, 2026.
Since the 1990s, Dominique Petitgand (born 1965 in Laxou, France; lives and works in Paris) has been developing a body of work centered on listening, speech, silence, and the sonority of words, sounds, and places. He creates sound works in which voices, sounds, musical atmospheres, and silences—through the process of editing—construct micro-universes where ambiguity constantly persists between a sense of reality and a projection into a fictional world that is context-free and timeless.
