A contribution, in the form of a philosophical treatise, to a theory of the transformation of ordinary historic buildings.
Macle is a research and design studio founded in 2023 by architectural practice FP01 (Simon Campedel and Jean-Romain Munvez) and photographer and art director Julien Hourcade. Macle focuses its attention on heritage, conceived as a living whole of forms and practices at several scales. Its aim is to document, collect, and inventory the usages, inheritances, know-how, accidents, and transformations that shape places in all their diversity.
