Le Nouveau Printemps 2025Toulouse : Saint-Sernin, Arnaud-Bernard

Macle - Le Nouveau Printemps 2025
A collection of photographs and interviews in the form of a journal, documenting the exploration of the Saint-Sernin and Arnaud-Bernard districts of Toulouse (France), which were invested as part of the third edition of the contemporary creation festival Le Nouveau Printemps 2025.
The Macle studio documents the multiplicity of narratives that inhabit these places and architectures before artists appropriate the spaces, in order to recount them through the voices of those who shape them. Neighborhoods are explored without a predefined order, to present a portrayal that is both collective and subjective, where voices blend together.
The notion of heritage is constantly questioned from a living perspective throughout this wandering, cyclically resurfacing through usages and practices.
At once tangible and intangible, inherited and transformed, contemplated and used, talking about heritage offers an opportunity to underline the accidents of the places around us and the ongoing transformations of the cities we live in.
Macle is a research and design studio founded in 2023 by architectural practice FP01 (Simon Campedel and Jean-Romain Munvez) and photographer and art director Julien Hourcade. Macle focuses its attention on heritage, conceived as a living whole of forms and practices at several scales. Its aim is to document, collect, and inventory the usages, inheritances, know-how, accidents, and transformations that shape places in all their diversity.
