You Who Have Beautiful Manners

Lucía C. Pino - You Who Have Beautiful Manners
First monographie.
Lucía C. Pino's work has largely been concerned with questioning the material and ontological inertias rooted in design, architecture and sculpture, such as attachment, solidity or durability. In their most recent work C. Pino has re-elaborated visual and political references found in queer archives—butch and dyke—challenging assumed notions of identity and visibility through sculptural language, image and writing.
The book accompanies You Who Have Beautiful Manners, the first solo exhibition by Lucía C. Pino at the Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in Madrid.
Lucía C. Pino (born 1977 in Valencia, Spain) lives and works in Barcelona. Their work encompasses a variety of mediums, including sculpture, photography, drawing, performance, installation, and research. It creates contrasting associations among materials, textures, structures, scales, and formats, which affects the works' tactile and sensual qualities. C. Pino's practice aligns with the fluidity of a queer ethos while also stressing the inherently performative aspect of the creative act.
Texts by Aimar Arriola and Bea Ortega Botas; poems by Iman Mason Jordan and Nouria Behloul.
