Et la vie continue…Dessins de la collection Karmitz

Marin Karmitz - Et la vie continue…
A journey through the collection of historical, modern, and contemporary drawings of producer and filmmaker Marin Karmitz.
This catalogue brings together more than 150 drawings from the Karmitz collection. Through works by artists historical (Théodore Géricault, Victor Hugo), modern (Otto Dix, Alberto Giacometti), and contemporary (Paula Rego, Annette Messager), the selection highlights the tension between the life and death drives running throughout the collection, wherein the human body is relentlessly confronted with the eternal return of the many causes of its finitude.
The catalogue is accompanied by a booklet, bringing together all the engravings from the Los Desastres de la guerra series by Francisco de Goya, conceived as a first extension of this printed archive.
Featuring Christian Boltanski, Louise Bourgeois, Constantin Brancusi, Vincenzo Camuccini, Camille Corot, Henry Darger, Damien Daufresne, Jean Delville, Otto Dix, Jean Dubuffet, Bernard Dufour, Jean Fautrier, Lucian Freud, Vincenzo Gemito, Théodore Géricault, Alberto Giacometti, Leon Golub, Beatriz González, Julio González, Francisco de Goya, George Grosz, Le Guerchin, Elika Hedayat, Ferdinand Hodler, Victor Hugo, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Tadeusz Kantor, Eugène Leroy, Man Ray, Stéphane Mandelbaum, Maryan S.
