Artist's book.
Printed in risograph with a limited edition of 250 copies, the book consists of 72 illustrated pages. It narrates the archaeological imaginary of a future community inhabiting the abandoned infrastructures and uncultivated spaces of a profoundly transformed Po Valley. Conceived as a testimony of a time yet to come, Era un cavallo elettrico. Breviario post-padano presents a prophetic reformulation of the relationship between humans and the ecosystems of the "foggy plain." The work serves as a snapshot of the rediscovery of forgotten practices, as well as the reinvention of certain symbols tied to the peasant culture that once characterized the Po Valley before its pervasive industrialization.
Simone Carraro (born 1995 in Treviso) is a visual artist whose work explores the relationship between man and landscape, reviving archaic worlds and questioning future scenarios.
