VotivaOpen-air contemporary art collection of the City of Parabita

 - Votiva
The first permanent collection of public art in Parabita's historic center, featuring sixteen contemporary artists.
Votiva is not merely the contemporary art collection of the town of Parabita. It strives to retrieve forgotten fragments of history by breathing new life into them. It aims to revitalise the community space; to foster reflection, dialogue and participation and to engage with the lasting presence of artworks in the everyday. Installed in the votive shrines scattered throughout the town's streets, Votiva is the result of a cultural and social experiment involving sixteen Italian and international artists. It has created a constellation of diverse visual experiences and hopefully a fertile ground for the regeneration of the community fabric.
Works by Francesco Arena, Chiara Camoni, Ludovica Carbotta, Claire Fontaine, Gianni Dessì, Ektor Garcia, Helena Hladilová, Felice Levini, Claudia Losi, K.R.M. Mooney, Liliana Moro, Adrian Paci, Mimmo Paladino, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Luigi Presicce, Namsal Siedlecki.
