In a rapidly changing Beirut, neglected dwellings are condemned to disappear as a result of land speculation. This multi-layered transdisciplinary project aims at examining the transformations that these obsolete architectures undergo. The study, carried on site, based on archives, testimonies and oral history, also proposes new artistic perspectives towards the city.

A comprehensive publication of Rifat Chadirji's photographic folio, which records and analyses the development of his architectural practice in Baghdad, from 1952 until the early 1980s. It provides a unique insight into a collection of photographic sheets that reflect how an architect documented his own work, and coded, organized and referenced his projects using photography.

Forty contributors share their perspectives on photography in Lebanon, evoking its equally numerous forms of existence. Examining techniques, practices, uses, objects, images, histories, and artistic approaches, this publication presents 380 photographs produced between the end of the 19th century and the present day.

The first publication ever dedicated to the musical works of American painter Louis Michel Eilshemius: Halfway between romantic tradition and futurist audacity, these sound pieces which prefigure the use of sampling are interpreted with virtuosity by the young pianist Imke Lichtwark in the accompanying CD. The book also includes texts by Roberto Ohrt, Sven Daigger, Stefan Banz, and by Eilshemius himself.

Five writers respond to Clare Goodwin's painting Dennis and Denise (2018), offering narrative foils to Goodwin's visual language. Dennis and Denise is neither described nor explained, but serves as a catalyst for literary experimentation. The texts, in turn, illustrate the painting's wealth of implicit meaning (texts by Tony Grisoni, Rebecca Geldard, Chris Fite-Wassilak, Frances Loeffler, Aoife Rosenmeyer, J. Emil Sennewald).

Affiliated with Vaporwave—a sub-genre of electric music and art which criticizes and mocks 1990s internet imagery—artist Chloe Feinberg takes a new turn with this series of black & white erotic illustrations.

On the occasion of this 13th issue, the Japanese artist asked 46 participating artists to cultivate a hyacinth, and to give an account of this experience through artistic gestures, including paintings, photographs, poetry, haiku, essays, and observation diaries (with Yukinori Maeda, Masanao Hirayama, Benjamin Sommerhalder, Susan Cianciolo…).
