ION

ION is a publishing house founded in 2010 in Angoulême, led by Benoît Preteseille, a cartoonist and comic book author. Through ION, he aims to publish books centered on drawing—a collection of small booklets that straddle the line between artist's books and illustration anthologies. ION offers a wealth of discoveries, unclassifiable works, female comic book artists, eccentric artists, illustrators, tattoo artists, and photographers who, alongside their professional work, cultivate a drawing practice that is sometimes secretive, original, and experimental.

Gilles Rochier - Bastion
2016
currently out of stock
An illustrated stroll through urban sites and residential neighborhoods that were designed with a futuristic vision but are now covered in graffiti. By making these places his own, the artist reimagines them and adds messages in the form of graffiti—like signatures marking his passage.
Céline Guichard - Les bêtes
2015
currently out of stock
In Les Bêtes, Céline Guichard's surreal, grotesque, and fantastical world has softened through her interaction with animals—whether furry, feathered, or scaly. The strangeness that permeates her drawings is still palpable, but in a lighthearted and perversely alluring way. This compendium showcases the beauty of natural forms, even if mutation is never far away...
Carl Roosens - L\'homme qui s\'en allait tout le temps, jamais très loin
2011
currently out of stock
Carl Roosens draws a strange carnival of oddities where we encounter animals and fascinating women, reminiscent of George Grosz, Karl Arnold, or Tomi Ungerer.
