The “Sounds Journals” by the composer and visual artist Louis Roquin, made during travels in Asia over twenty years (1998-2016), constitute a kaleidoscopic homage to writing, image, text and sound.
Both composer and visual artist, Louis Roquin (1941-2024) used the graphic qualities of musical notation as pictorial material, in "visual compositions" based on collage, calligraphy and scores. He regularly collaborated with
Michèle Métail (with whom he founded the association "Les arts contigus"), creating exhibitions, performances and books combining sound, image, text and movement.
