Good Evening Beautiful Blue

Ugo Rondinone - Good Evening Beautiful Blue
Final chapter of a publication series by Ugo Rondinone, this catalogue presents the artist's exhibition on the occasion of the reopening of the Bass Museum of Art in Miami. The volume also takes a look at the Museum's acquisition of Rondinone's Miami Mountain, which follows his iconic mountain series, recognizable for their brightly colored, fluorescent contrasting palates.
This volume, published in conjunction with Ugo Rondinone's solo exhibition at the Bass Museum of Art, Miami, is the last in a series of five books conceived by the New York–based Swiss artist and published over two years to accompany a cycle of exhibitions devoted to works inspired by the color spectrum and centered on Vocabulary of Solitude, forty-five life-size sculptures of passive and contemplative clowns. This final publication provides entries for every sculpture; each clown is named individually and described in the present tense. In Miami, as in Rotterdam, Rome, Cincinnati, and Berkeley, the mannequins' profound introspection and perceived isolation triggered extreme audience interaction and engagement: solitude could be defied, if only for a moment.
Published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at the Bass Museum of Art, Miami, from October 29,2017, to March 25, 2018.

Also available in a Limited Edition box set.
Ugo Rondinone (*1963, Switzerland) has lived in New York for several years. Using photography, video, painting, drawing, sculpture, sound, and text by turns, Rondinone is a virtuoso of forms and techniques. Developing surprising sensorial environments, he especially likes destabilizing our perceptions and unsettling our certainties. Rearranging content and formal elements, a personal poetic with elements taken directly from the outside world, he draws us into a synesthetic experience.
