The first volume in the series Taccuini d'Architettura, exploring the intimate and material dimensions of contemporary Italian architecture, is dedicated to the Brescia-based studio Associates Architecture.
"Taccuino n.1" focuses on Associates Architecture's project Stones Venue—a layered, minimal intervention that reflects the studio's sensibility for place, texture, and memory. Through drawings, photographs, and notes, the book unfolds the process behind a project where architecture becomes both frame and fragment.
Taccuini d'architettura is a series exploring the most intimate side of emerging
architecture in
Italy. Building upon the legacy of the
Autobiography collection,
Taccuini d'architettura shifts the focus from the final result to its genesis: sketches, notes, intuitions, and images unveil the creative process, revealing what usually remains hidden within a project. An exploration into the substance of architecture before it takes form.
Associates Architecture is an architectural office based in Brescia, founded in 2017, and directed by the Italian-South African duo composed by Nicolò Galeazzi (born 1987 in Brescia) and Martina Salvaneschi (born 1989 in Johannesburg).
