Jean-Paul Resweber (born in 1941) taught philosophy at the University of Strasbourg (1969–1989), at the University of Western Brittany (Brest, 1989–1991), and at the University of Lorraine (Metz, 1991–2008), where he served as professor emeritus until 2020. He has published various books and articles on hermeneutics, ethics, and education, as well as on the complex relationships between philosophy and theology. He co-founded the philosophy and humanities journal
Le Portique.
