La délicatesse des sens

Herman Parret - La délicatesse des sens
A collection of three new aesthetic essays, between the visual arts and literature, by Belgian philosopher and semiotician Herman Parret: a reflection on the "delicacy" in the various fields of sensoriality (the visible, the sound, the taste and the tactile), from Aristotle to Gerhard Richter through Leonardo da Vinci, Rameau, Nietzsche, Proust and Marcel Duchamp—a most suggestive reading for the construction or the development of a sensitive semiotics.
Herman Parret (born 1938 in Izegem) is a Belgian philosopher. Professor emeritus at the University of Leuven, he has published a dozen books and more than 250 articles in French, English and Dutch in the fields of philosophy of language, semiotics and aesthetics. He has been translated into Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Korean, Turkish and Japanese.
