Les derniers paradis

Sido Lansari - Les derniers paradis
Artist's book.
Sido Lansari's Les derniers paradis (Last Paradises) is the fictional portrait of Sami, whose story the author tells "almost true". In Casablanca, he dreams only of dances and Egyptian stars in the barber shop where he works. Until the day he meets Daniel, a lover who introduces him to a revolutionary homosexual Paris. By mixing archive images and film photographs, Sido Lansari draws an intimate portrait of a young man, from childhood to exile, where he discovers he comes from the "last homosexual paradises", as they are called in the West.
Sido Lansari was born in 1988 in Casablanca. He worked at the Biennale de la Danse and the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Lyon, France. In 2013, he begins his first creative project Papa suce et Maman coud.
His work was exhibited in Rabat, at Le Cube – Independent art room, in Lyon (Modern Art Gallery, 2014; Galerie des Pentes, 2013), in Marrakesh (Le 18, derb el ferranne, 2015), in Paris (La Gaîté Lyrique, 2014; Les mots à la bouche, 2016)...
He is also the director of the Cinémathèque de Tangier.
