After a commercial diploma and a few years career as a social worker, Giacomo Bianchetti (born 1982 in Locarno, lives and works in Lausanne) decided to seriously pursue the study of photography. He earned a federal certificate of photographer in 2010 at the School of Photography in Vevey, and continues at the same institute to complete advanced study in photography, which he concluded in 2013. His personal work is based on a direct and physical confrontation with power. His approach aims to test the legal limits that separate public and private, and invoke company and economic issues. His interest is derived from a deep personal reflection and a sense of powerlessness vis-à-vis the uncontrollable growth of modern society. He wants to reflect on these issues using photography and other media.
