Roland Topor (1938-1997) is a French drawer
, painter, designer, playwright and novelist who also worked for cinema and television. He founded in 1962 the Panic
Movement, along with Fernando Arrabal
and Alexandro Jodorowsky. A prolific poster artist (Empire of passion
, The Tin Drum
) he also collaborated with Fellini on Casanova
's film set. In 1973, he won the special prize at Cannes for his work with René Laloux on Fantastic Planet
. His novel The Tenant
was adapted to film by Roman Polanski in 1976.
