Le Grand Zinc

Io Burgard - Le Grand Zinc
An account of artist Io Burgard's experience in the town of Ugine (archives, concert, residency, exhibition), part fanzine, part punk, part white cube.
Io Burgard (born 1987 in Talence, lives and works in Paris) is an artist whose work explores the fluidity of bodies as well as their mobility within transit points. She travels with ease from reality to fantasy, and vice versa, thanks to the multiple media she uses, from drawing to sculpture, from frescoes to bas-relief. Her fluid, round and plaster-moulded shapes, are possible translations or continuations in relief of hand-drawn lines.Their white colour sometimes appears to designate the void filled with mental images, and sometimes represents porous forms. These elastic, melting, both mineral and organic, both figurative and abstract shapes create a circuit and delineate a space pierced by numerous openings.
Edited by Io Burgard and Mathilde Sauzet.
Texts by Io Burgard, Rémi Pépin, Camille Richert, Mathilde Sauzet, Karin Schlageter.
Partition by Gabriel Mattei.
