Art & temporality

Transcript of a lecture given at the Musée de la Civilisation, Québec, in 1993, in which the scientist Ilya Prigogine suggests an understanding of time that isn't just a measuring variable but a real dimension whose most fertile property would be its irreversibility.

This publication is a continuation of Gabriel Sierra's site-specific installation project at the Renaissance Society in 2015. The book expands on and further examines the topics and ideas of the exhibition, that of the relation between the body and its spatio-temporal framework.

This publication showcases a selection of photographs taken by the artist, over a year-long period, in second-hand shops, flea markets, antique stores and auction houses in Berlin.
