Julie Vayssière

Julie Vayssière (born 1979 in Toulouse, lives and works in Paris) has developed a practice centered on citation, appropriation, and transformation. As an observer of modes of representation and the evolution of narratives in contemporary society, her approach seeks to engage with the imaginaries and issues of social and cultural spheres. Her research encompasses a variety of media, including text, photography, video, performance, and installation. She also creates exhibition formats and specific events that incorporate a curatorial approach. Most of Julie Vayssière's projects seem to be imbued with a gesture akin to collage, operating between illusion and disillusionment, on the fine line of representation.
