Between / Beyond / HybridNew Essays on Transdisciplinarity

 - Between / Beyond / Hybrid
Prominent voices of the debate on transdisciplinarity in a transdisciplinary manner.
Everyone calls for it, but no one knows what the subject matter of that call really is—transdisciplinarity. After a period in which that call had not only been an academic invitation, but rather a demand urgently to be fulfilled, the concept is loosing its grip for some time already. High time to approach the concept anew and in a new form.
This volume collects prominent voices of the debate on transdisciplinarity in a transdisciplinary manner. This coincidence of content and form in presenting main papers and critical replies to them from a different discipline allows for a vivid debate and new insights. What combines these stylistically as well as thematically divergent contributions is the reservation against transdisciplinarity as intellectual weapon for every hitch and the conviction that its programmatic weight could be regained by approaching the topic from the margins—transdisciplinarity where it breaks down, fails, comes to an end. Unravelling transdisciplinarity's contours by clarifying its limits.
