La Roue Ferris

Bernard Parmegiani - La Roue Ferris
Restored manuscript from the composer, historical documentation about the 1971 acousmatic work & genesis.
"'La Roue Ferris' (The Ferris Wheel) becomes part of its own resonance, its variations relentlessly kept up as it spins. It simply traces a movement which evolves regularly around a stationary axis. Each spin generates sounds of various thicknesses, their successive, interpenetrating layers in playful fluidity. The crackling at the beginning transforms finally into threads of light sound that evoke cirrus clouds, the ones seen in very high altitude harbouring the cries of swifts circling the thermals. Wonderment comes into existence and dies, leaving us with the illusion of duration."
