After studies at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts in Paris and Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, in Amsterdam, Karina Bisch (born 1974 in Paris, where she lives and works) has developped a unique artistic vocabulary using numerous references to
geometrical art but also to
fashion and
dance, formulating a particular sensibility to modernity. The artist examines very closely the aesthetic of the historical avant-gardes. Then she deforms it and adapts it regarding the necessity.Throught her works and
performances—sometimes in a theatrical way—Karina Bisch, who is alsway irreverent and pragmatic re-enact the twentieth century diverting the presumed universality of modernism models.
