La relation cmme forme

La relation cmme forme Jean-Louis Boissier - La relation cmme forme
Digital technologies and interactivity in the artistic field, in an historic and experimental perspective (new edition).
The evolution of art history is marked by ruptures, one recent one being digital images. Boissier, more interested in historical continuity, takes a counter approach to classifying art in this way. How does the word relation fit in relation to reality - with regard to Chinese painting, or to the world of Jean Jacques Rousseau, or to cinematography - and how does it reinvest itself and take shape with regard to digital media. He aims to define “computer art” - what place does it hold in the creative process. In what way does the art of relations distinguish itself from communication? Seventeen texts (essays, magazine and catalog contributions... written between 1983-2003 constitute this work by Boissier who is also an artist, researcher, teacher and curator.
Teacher, curator and artist, Jean-Louis Boissier (born 1945 in Loriol-sur-Drôme, France) is a pionner in interactive art. He is professor of aesthetics (University of Paris 8), and director of research (University of Paris 8; EnsadLab, École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs, Paris).
