Art criticism: historical approach and current practices

Hubs and Fictions, originally a touring forum, invited international curators, writers, and producers to probe how fiction plays out in a globally distributed art-world ecology, and how infrastructures are invented against its background. This unconventional reader gathers documents, negotiations, and reflections from and on these conversations.

Dirty Ear Report reviews the activities of the Dirty Ear Forum—a research platform focusing on contemporary sound studies and sound art, and the diversity of approaches surrounding its practice and thinking. Drawing on from the researches carried out during the first edition held at Errant Bodies Project Space in Berlin, this first issue gathers contributions investigating sound as a social material.

This issue surveys the second edition of the Dirty Ear Forum at Bergen Academy of Art and Design in Norway, centered around the sound as the basis for a new discursive paradigm.
