Ben Patterson - The Lost Tape & The Three Required Musics (vinyl LP)

LP featuring a recording of the search for a lost tape by musician Ben Patterson, with the help of editor Stefan Fricke and composer hans w. koch. This 1960 lost tape acts a symbolical archive, since it documents Patterson's pre-Fluxus period. Having failed to find it, tehy decided to recreate the recording with a score from this period. The reconstructed track is on the record's B side. This edition includes liner notes, and selected documents chronicling the search.

This vinyl LP associates a visual project and a musical piece by the multidisciplinary German artist. Müller's interest with Wagner's composition Rheingold forms the basis of the sound piece, which consists of a mix of layers of Rheingold recordings. In 1991, German art group The Oval Language built a multimedia artwork exploring the irrational impact of Leipzig's Monument to the Battle of the Nations to German generations throughout the years. This LP reproduces the sound layer of the event and includes a recording of a live performance at the HGB Leipzig. Inner sleeve contains photos of each stage of the project and texts.

This recording is the sonic counterpart to Dutch artist Paul Panhuysen's last visual work Oog & Oor—a colorful design whose structure was built from sudoku puzzles. Panhuysen used the same principle to compose these sudoku-based pieces in collaboration with carillonneur Rosemarie Seuntiëns.

This improvisational band founded in 1968 by Dutch musicians Paul Panhuysen, Remko Scha and Jan van Riet takes its source and inspiration from the works of George Maciunas. This LP edition features two pieces, both recorded on December 19, 1976, and never released before on any format. Here, the group comprised Leon van Noorden and Hans Schuurman, in addition to the founding members.
