Jean-Christophe Averty

Anne-Marie Duguet - Jean-Christophe Averty
Monograph dedicated to the work of French television filmmaker, producer, scenarist, and a href="index_theme.php?id=160&menu=4">video art pioneer Jean-Christophe Averty.
Caustic humour, jazz, visual layouts and special effects: Jean-Christophe Averty's television work is characterized by a perpetual inventiveness—together with an absolutely impure perception of electronic creation. Averty's style shows rare “technical intelligence”, not in terms of mastership or skills, but in support of imagination.
Anne-Marie Duguet is professor emeritus at the UFR of Plastic Arts and Art Sciences of the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. As an art critic and theorist, she has published several books and curated several exhibitions in the fields of video art history and, more broadly, new media theory. She is also the director of the multimedia collection “Anarchive”, a digital archive on contemporary art.
