L'Anglais mêlé

L\'Anglais mêlé Caroline Bergvall - L\'Anglais mêlé
First French translation of this much noted collection by the London-based writer and performer.
“Bergvall's hybrid work—it is composed for live and digital performance, installation, video, as well as book form—derives from post-punk music and sound poetry as well as from literary movements like Oulipo. Her sonic, verbal, and rhetorical devices are extremely sophisticated, encompassing Duchampian pun, phonemic bilingual (French-English) transfer, paragram, ideogram, allusion, and found text.”
Marjorie Perloff
Caroline Bergvall is an artist, poet, writer and performer working across artforms, media and languages. Her work frequently develops through exploring material traces, literary documents and linguistic detail, language and literary history, sites and histories, hidden or forgotten knowledges. Her sparse textual, spatial and audio works often expose hidden or difficult historical/political events. Projects include books, performances, installations, sound pieces, net-based work, graphic and printed work. Selections appear in anthologies in the UK and internationally. Works have been shown and presented at Tate Moden London, MOMA NY, Whitney Biennial NY, Powerplant Toronto, MACBA & Poesia Barcelona, Montevideo Festival Marseille, Fondation Vuitton Paris, Serpentine Gallery London, Arnolfini Gallery Bristol, Khoj Centre New Delhi, Samtidmuseet Oslo… In 2017, Caroline Bergvall was presented with the Cholmondeley Award and the Bernard Heidsieck—Centre Pompidou prize.
