Mircea Cantor -
Published coincidently with a solo exhibition of this Romanian artist, this well produced first monograph provides a worthwhile introduction to this thoughtful and multi-talented artist. From video and photography to prints and installations, Mircea Cantor's work unfolds in a diversity of media without repeating itself. By proposing a personal response to a reality saturated with sometimes oppressive signs, Cantor develops works and conditions that potentially upset and reverse dominant conventions. Illustrated throughout, with clear colour and black and white reproductions of works, the publication also includes several short introductory essays.
Born in 1977 in Oradea, Romania, Mircea Cantor lives and works in Paris.
Edited by Maxime Barbier, Mircea Cantor, Stéphanie Dupont.
Texts by François Quintin, Mihnea Mircan, Ion Grigorescu.
