CostumesEnquête sur le vêtement, l'habit, la parure dans le fonds de livres anciens de l'isdaT

 - Costumes
Costumes, the second book of images produced from the plates in isdaT's old books collection, focuses on the representation of clothing and ornaments. With a 21st century perspective, the edition explores an exceptional public heritage.
For this publication, the second release in the "Formes" series, dedicated to images taken from the decorative arts collections of the Institut supérieur des arts et du design de Toulouse (isdaT), Valérie Vernet and Anne Jourdain have focused their choice on the representation of clothing, ornaments and apparel from "all times and all countries", drawn and engraved in black or in colour. A source of formal inspiration and reflection on the Western historical conception of "ancient peoples", the graphic designers of Stéréo Buro and the photographer Jules Séverac have given life to this new iconographic suite.
Valérie Vernet is an artist-author, editor and teacher. Her drawing, book and poster work is distributed in independent publishing and in the public space. She teaches screen printing at the isdaT.

Anne Jourdain is in charge of the conservation of the heritage collections and the coordination of the isdaT's publications. In the old library, she conducts research as part of the micro-publishing workshop.

Stéréo Buro is an art direction and graphic design studio created in Paris in 2015 by Silvia Dore and Diane Boivin. It strives to assert a graphic style that is both innovative and accessible to all, with an attitude that is both research-based and multidisciplinary.

Jules Séverac is an independent photographer and visual artist. He graduated from the isdaT and the Ecole nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière in 2019. He develops an artistic activity linking the intimate, the minimal and the landscape.
