Shara Hughes

 
Shara Hughes (born 1981 in Atlanta, lives and works in Brooklyn) is an American painter. She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004, and went on to attend the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2011. In 2017, the artist was included in the Whitney Biennial. Her works are held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Denver Art Museum, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., among others.
