Ernteschach dem Dämon

Jonathan Meese, Slavoj Žižek - Ernteschach dem Dämon
Two discussions about Karl Marx - on the dictatorship of the Fine Arts and on the future of revolution - are gathered together in this publication. Illustrated by Jonathan Meese, with a foreword by Robert Eikmeyer.
The publication is part of the series of artist's projects edited by Christoph Keller.
Jonathan Meese (born in 1971 in Tokyo, lives and works in Berlin) has developed an uncategorizable body of work, lying somewhere between expressionism and actionism, combining painting, sculpture, installations and performance. His personal mythology is a blend of historical, legendary and science fiction references, evoking figures as varied as Fantômas, Maldoror and Stalin, all of whom represent different facets of the artist's identity, who describes himself as a “cultural exorcist”. His work espouses the “dictatorship of art”.
Born in 1949, in Ljubljana, Slovenian Slavoj Žižek is one of the best-known contemporary philosophers. He was politically very active in the alternative movement in Slovenia during the 1980s, and was a presidential candidate in 1990.
Edited by Robert Eikmeyer and Christoph Keller.
Foreword by Robert Eikmeyer.
