ReviewVideos & Films – Collection Pierre Huber

 - Review
The videos of one of the most important private collections of contemporary art.
The entry of video into the collection is emphasized by to simultaneous factors: the opening up of non-Western artistic practices and a strong interest in the discovery of young artists. The video works either generate their own space of projection, or that play with existing space. Or, the works use a projection screen that technoloy thinks of more and more as a both constructive and decorative wall in a private interior. Thus the screen takes the place of a painting or the large-format photography that suceeded it.
Works by Kutlug Ataman, Kader Attia, Slater Bradley, Sylvie Blocher, Candice Breitz, Olaf Breuning, Roderick Buchanan, David Claerbout, Mat Collishaw, Brice Dellsperger, Rineke Dijkstra, Fischli & Weiss, Sylvie Fleury, Mario Friberg, Rodney Graham, Cameron Jamie, William Kentridge, Kim Sooja, Annika Larsson, Anna Lindal, Fen-Ma Liuming, Maria Marshall, Tracey Moffatt, Jonathan Monk, Mariko Mori, Tania Mouraud, Shirin Neshat, Yoshua Okon, Tony Oursler, Nam June Paik, Paul Pfeiffer, Roman Signer, Catherine Sullivan, Elaine Sturtevant, Fatimah Tuggar, Francesco Vezzoli, Peili Zhang, Xu Zhen, etc.
